Fifth Time’s a Charm

So, this is about the fifth time I have moved this blog around the net, trying to find a place that fits me. I finally said “screw it” and bought my own domain so that I have the flexibility to display my content my way. I’ve found that other sites are too niche, they want you to blog about a particular topic or category, and that’s just not me. I have a lot of interests and a lot of stuff to say.

When I first began blogging in 2011, my site mostly consisted of City of Heroes content. Then CoH got shut down, and now it’s back (and that’s a whole other thing), but I moved on. I couldn’t find a single topic to have as the focus of my blog (something that used to bother me but now I embrace), but I tried anyway. I tried to keep up with the latest gaming news, movie releases, geek culture stuff, etc. It was like having a second full time job that didn’t pay me anything, and I was losing my joy for it. I struggled with finding my voice for blogging. At first I wanted to professional and present my work as if I were writing for a newspaper or magazine. I have no idea why. Now, you get what you get. For free.

I’m still working to build this site, and I went live on accident. So if you stumbled across it by accident, welcome. I hope you decide to stick around. There is a subscription box at the bottom so you can be notified when I update. I still work a full time job, so I don’t have a publishing schedule. I’d very much like to find my groove and establish one, though. I know it’s easier to keep your attention if you have something to look forward to each week.

And so in closing, I leave you with a pic of my kitty, Simone. She’s adorable.
